We are really enjoying our theme Best of British. Take a look at our highlights so far!

Our Bonfire celebration and making marshmallow treats. We created our own firework pictures and learnt about the story of Guy Fawkes.

Finding out a tiger snuck into our classroom and left a big mess! We were left with a letter and the story, The Tiger Who Came to Tea. Sophie the little girl from the story apologised for the tiger’s mess and told us he is a friendly tiger and wanted us to learn the story.

We learnt the story as a class and in groups. We also drew story maps and wrote letters to the tiger.

We have been doing some great maths work, showing different ways of representing a number, counting amounts and matching it to numerals.

We have loved playing in the post office role play area. We are now ready to write our Christmas letters to Father Christmas.

We enjoyed showing our Best of British homework to the class and talking about what we had created. Miss Forestiero thinks all our work is amazing!

We learnt about Remembrance Day and read a story that Iris brought in. We thought about the brave soldiers and coloured in poppies to make a wreath.

We also learnt about the Diwali. We tried different Indian snacks and created Diva lamps. We listened to the story of Rama and Sita.

Claire the storyteller came into our class and told us some fantastic stories. We really enjoyed joining in with the stories, ‘Herman the Worm’, ‘The Enormous Turnip’, ‘Mortimer’ and lot’s more.

She showed us how to perform stories focusing on our voices, actions and facial expressions.

We enjoyed performing our story, The Tiger Who Came to Tea, to all the parents. Thank you for coming to watch.

We are very busy at the moment practising for our nativity play and are enjoying learning the different songs. We are looking forward to performing it to everyone!
