Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

We are pleased to confirm that the sponsored walk has been rescheduled and will be taking place on Friday 17th May.  We have decided to take the children on a walk around the village so that we can go ahead whatever the weather!!

The children will be completing a quiz about Little Harrowden as they complete their walk.  If you have any sponsor money, please can you send this into the office before half term.

Just a reminder that our Summer Fete will be taking place on Friday 28th June and will have a wild west theme - please save the date in your diaries!

Many thanks,

Kate Pettifer

I would just like to say a huge thank you to all the children who took part in the Easter bonnet parade on Tuesday.  It was so unfortunate that we were unable to complete the ramble - the second time we've had to postpone it due to weather!  Hopefully all the children enjoyed the 'Easter Scramble' and have enjoyed their smarties!

Over the Easter holidays please encourage the children to complete jobs around the house in return for coins to fill their smartie tubes.  All of the money raised will be used to buy books for their classrooms.

We are thrilled to announce that next week the reception classroom outside area will be being resurfaced with a colourful safety surface!   The PTA have donated over £1,000 to the school to enable this project to take place.  The work is being undertaken by a local company who source all of their materials from Wollaston - so truely a local venture!

Watch this space for photos as it develops!

I hope you all have a lovely Easter and a well deserved break.

Kate Pettifer

The PTA are delighted to confirm that the Easter Ramble will be taking place on Tuesday 26th March in the morning!

The whole school will be taking part and sponsor forms have already been sent home!  The children will be completing an orienteering challenge on their way to Orlingbury, with a prize for every child who takes part.

There will be an Easter bonnet / hat competition taking place on the same day, with prizes for the best hats for KS1 and KS2 - we are looking forward to seeing the fantastic creations that the children make!

Please support your PTA and this event as the money raised will be used to purchase new books for the classrooms.  Additionally we have some exciting news coming soon regarding the outside play area in Reception - watch this space!

Welcome to the PTA area of our website!

We are very fortunate here at Little Harrowden to have a very active PTA who regularly put on events for the children which raises vital funds for the school. As parents / carers of children at the school you all have automatic membership of the PTA, however the main key roles are held by the following people:

Chair person – Mrs Mandy Lington (Parent of child in Year 4)

Vice Chair – Mrs Kate Pettifer (School Business Manager)

Treasurer – Mrs Sharon Houghton (Parent of child in Year 1)

Secretary – Mrs Claire Barber (Parent of child in Year 1)

In addition to this, we have a committee of volunteers who all work extremely hard to ensure that the children have fun at events such as the disco.

Over the coming months we shall be holding a sponsored Easter ramble on 26th March - this replaces the Peace walk which was postponed from last November, a coffee morning on the 27th March to which Mrs Williams and some of the children will be entertaining us with their musical talents, plus we are already working on our summer fete which is being held on Friday 28th June – keep the date free!

Our next meeting is being held on Tuesday 23rd April at 3.30pm – crèche facilities will be offered by the school to allow parents to attend. It would be fantastic if you could come along – if only to offer an hours’ worth of support at a forthcoming event!

If you have any ideas for future fundraising events, please comment on our blogs, or pop into the school office and speak to Kate who will be happy to listen to any suggestions.

Thank you for your support at our events, and we hope to see you at the next meeting.
